Work Schedule: We cannot guarantee a specific number of work hours per week; however, current estimates call for 30 hours per week. Your work schedule can be flexible, as long as you meet all job responsibilities and attend regular virtual meetings as needed during normal business hours.

Starting Hourly Rate: $90-110, depending on experience and location

About the Account Strategist role:
Account Strategists are the heart and soul of our agency’s business and our clients’ successes. This role is on the front lines of the business, with the responsibility to co-create and manage our clients’ strategies, goals, and results while establishing exemplary client relationships at all levels of each client’s organization. Account Strategists work with leadership on the client’s team to continually identify opportunities for account success and growth while ensuring that marketing and supporting projects are aligned with client goals.
This role combines deep experience in strategic consulting, goal-setting, proven marketing strategies, and tactics to achieve client growth in revenue and other KPIs. Account Strategists also work closely with our cross-disciplinary creative teams to help create and present creative briefs, prioritize projects and review works-in-progress for alignment to goals, and serve as the critical strategy touchstone across multiple marketing project workstreams.
Account Strategist responsibilities:
- Serving as the “champion of the client,” gaining an understanding of the client’s goals and objectives and translating them into clear and defined project workstreams
- Lead the development of strategic marketing campaigns, deftly collaborating with client and internal teams, using proven strategies and data-driven approaches to drive results
- Communicating client goals and objectives via business and creative briefs both to our clients and to Tangible project team(s), in order to ensure deliverables will meet and exceed client expectations
- Building meaningful relationships with our primary client teams, leading client strategy meetings, and partnering with creative strategy leadership to ensure our work is aligned to the client’s goals and objectives
- Managing client relationships, cultivating connections with marketing teams, client team leaders, and key decision makers on the client team by building trust and strategic partnerships
- Providing key inputs to business development for the account, including identifying and inspiring new work, developing scoping / estimate documents in partnership with the Growth Strategies team and Chief of Staff, driving the development of implementation plans in collaboration with producers and senior creatives, and working with producers to inform resource management
- Communicating with clients on all project scope-related matters; providing regular reports on progress and scope as well as suggestions for adjustments as appropriate
- Optimizing account activities to achieve business goals; tracking and reporting on the account’s progress against strategic goals; helping identify and prioritize projects that make our client the hero within their organization
- Serving as the escalation point for clients, as appropriate
- Setting team norms (internal & client facing) for how the project will be run
- Leading account-level retrospectives & establishing regular feedback loops
- Developing and managing relationships with third-party partners to support our client work
- Working with Tangible senior leadership to continually review and improve our account strategy processes
Skills & abilities:
- Seasoned cross-channel marketing expert, strategic thinker, and problem solver who can continually identify ways for Tangible to deliver creative projects, solutions, and value to the client
- Charismatic, ambitious, self-directed, passionate, and able to ask smart questions
- Able to inform research and support the ways in which that research is presented to an executive audience
- Makes decisions to ensure creative team activities align to the stated project scope and works closely with producers to ensure projects do not go over-budget; can determine when a project may need change orders, and is comfortable navigating those conversations with the client
- Can create meaningful relationships with senior-level client stakeholders, ensuring our work supports their goals, continually finding opportunities for relationship growth
- Able to prioritize concurrent projects and efficiently manage time; able to work well under pressure and time constraints
- Able to identify strengths and weaknesses of team members to inform assembly of project teams to best meet the needs of each project, resolving/escalating issues as appropriate
- Has a growth mindset and is a strategic driver of account growth; is comfortable conducting sales activities and negotiating scope within existing client accounts in partnership with Tangible leadership, as appropriate
- Strong collaboration skills – works effectively as part of a virtual team or in person
- Self-starter who can work independently without a lot of supervision to accomplish goals
- Thorough and organized, with outstanding attention to detail
- Quick learner who can pivot and adapt as client needs change
- Willing to provide and receive constructive criticism and make changes based on feedback
- Able to keep sensitive client and agency information confidential at all times
Experience: Must have at least 5 years of agency experience in a senior marketing and/or strategic consulting role.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in the industry
Essential Mental/Physical Functions:
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time using a computer, mobile device, or phone
- Work alone or with others virtually or in an office environment
Required Equipment/Software:
- Personal equipment (e.g., computer, phone) is provided by each employee. Tangible provides a small monthly stipend to support personal devices and internet costs.
- Tangible provides licenses for the following software:
- Google Workspace for email / Drive / Docs / Sheets
- Harvest for resource management and time-tracking
- Slack, Teamwork, Float, and other required team collaboration software
- Figma design software; licenses for Adobe Creative Suite and stock photography libraries can be provided by request
- Microsoft 365 product suite (if required by a specific client/project)
- Other software may be made available to employees by request and as required by select client engagements
- Some client engagements will require the installation of key VPN and/or other software to access necessary corporate visual design and brand assets
